OBJECTIVES of the  SCOTTISH INLAND WATERWAYS ASSOCIATION

SIWA advocates the restoration, maintenance, development and use of all Inland Waterways in Scotland.

SIWA promotes the fullest use of  all Scottish inland  waterways by both commercial and pleasure traffic and SIWA  co-operates with others in activities whereby these objectives will be furthered.

SIWA is active:-

Representing users of Scotland's Inland Waterways;

Working on the Freshwater Group and the Saltwater Group with  British Waterways,  Scotland

Preserving / enhancing the canals for users by engaging with Planning Authorities;

Engaging with British Waterways, Scotland on:

      the level of fees;
      the supply of services; and
      maintaining navigation


Recruiting users of the Caledonian and Crinan Canals as members; and  working to restore navigability to the River Leven and to recruit Loch Lomond boaters.
