Official opening of the Falkirk wheel

These photos were taken by John, Pam and myself and I make no apologies for including so many. They all show a different perspective of the event.

We have just come into the caisson and the seals have come up.

and north west. Note the plastic flags!

Myrtle and Ralph on Thomas Telford. What the well dressed people wear in the presence of HM. Pity the photo doesn't show Ralph's cut away tails!

Looking back up when we were half way down.

A view of Gamebird under the wheel caissons.

Going out onto the Forth and Clyde for a twirl. Malcolm, Pam and Ann on board

Some of the boats moored on the Forth and Clyde for the opening.

In lock1 on our way back to the wheel from the Forth and Clyde. John in the bows.

Waiting to go into the wheel. John busy with his camera.

We're on the way up. John and Vicki in the bows.

Half way up. Dragonfly in front.

We're almost there. Pam (with hat), Lynne (with camera), Ann (in the safety of the cabin). Good view of the low "wall"  which is all that stops boats going over the edge on entering when coming down.
